Here’s the deal. If you’ve been restricting your Baja stays only to Cabo San Lucas or La Paz, you have been missing the most beautiful area in Mexico. The East Cape. We’re talking white sand beaches that stretch for miles. Los Barriles is a central place that has everything but not too much of anything. The weather is always nice (well, summer is kinda hot) but for most days of the year you can kayak in the warm waters of the East Cape or snorkel in the Aquarium beneath. Remember that on the East Cape there are no waves to contend with. Just walk out in to the still Ocean. Of course if you want waves you can drive to the best surf in the World by going across to the Pacific side and surfing Todos Santos or heading down South and surfing Shipwrecks, Nine Palms or Punta Perfecta. There is an unlimited array of things to do here. The whales, dolphins, manta rays et al are a constant viewing pleasure. It’s not uncommon to see people having a nice bonfire on the beach in the evenings as the day ends. Keep in mind that the sun rises on the East and when you wake up, you’re viewing the most spectacular sun rises on Earth. There is a golf course being finished in La Ribera which is only 15 minutes South of Los Barriles for those avid golfers. There’s kitesurfing and windsurfing, quad rides to the water falls, horse back riding, diving and boat rides to Bahia de los Suenos just North of Boca del Alamo. There’s a runway at Punta Pescadero for those of you that fly. From there it’s only minutes to Las Tinas, El Cardonal, San Ysidro and Boca del Alamo. It’s also just a ten minute drive to the Los Barriles area. Just South of Los Barriles is Buena Vista, Spa Buena Vista, Rancho Leonero, La Ribera and the Lighthouse Point Estates which is a great project under way. Google the areas and see for yourself or better yet come on down and let’s check it out together. Remember that your connection to the States is only a 2 hour flight to Los Angeles.
